Open Day at New Ferry Butterfly Park

Sunday 2nd May

Despite the chilly weather, which meant no butterflies were on the wing, everyone who visited New Ferry Butterfly Park on 2nd May for the Art Trail and Open Day had a marvelous time. More than 400 people came and enjoyed themselves on our reserve!.

All the artworks around the site are staying on the Butterfly Park for the summer, so those who missed the opening can come along any Sunday afternoon between now and the end of August.

Thanks to the many supporters, including the Railway Inn, Port Sunlight Garden Centre, Aldi and especially the artists themselves: Carol Ramsay, our artist-in-residence who organised the whole day, and her friends Emma Jean Kemp, Chris Colville, Hayley Parfitt and Karon McGunigall.

The Butterfly Park currently has about 35 volunteers involved in various roles, including wardening, practical management, hosting educational and other groups, fund-raising and publicity. However, more volunteers are very welcome! Please contact Hilary Ash on 327 5923 or Paul Loughnane on 645 8937, or check the Wirral Wildlife website
