PRESS RELEASE

1 February 2008

Spread the love to the countryside this Valentines

Forget red roses and blue violets this Valentines day and instead go green for your loved one by sponsoring a nest box for a cute fluffy dormouse with Cheshire Wildlife Trust.

The tiny woodland creatures will melt any heart and by sponsoring a nest box you will help stop dormice becoming homeless in Cheshire and help them breed to regain a healthy population.

Dormice hibernate during the winter, and will still be asleep on St Valentines day but in the next few months they will awaken, and start preparing for summer. Dormice are slow breeders compared to other small rodents, but by midsummer most of the females will have litter of three to six baby dormice

If you sponsor a nest box your Valentine will receive a personalised certificate as proof of their sponsorship, a dormouse fact file and news bulletins about the project.

It costs just £10 for the whole year and you can sign up online or call directly on 01948 820728.
