WISE UP TO WILDLIFE IN CHESHIRE

Experts at Cheshire Wildlife Trust (CWT) are encouraging nature lovers to improve their ‘natural know-how’ by signing up to their special training workshops available for all to enjoy.

The fun and insightful training days range from the weird and wonderful ‘fungi foray’ and ‘bumblebee identification’ to the enlightening ‘wildlife gardening workshops’ and the fascinating ‘water vole surveying’ with experts leading the groups ready to share their specialist knowledge.

Ellie Condon, executive assistant at Cheshire Wildlife Trust, says: “By focusing closely on a particular aspect of our environment, our training courses inspire a new perspective on the natural world around us and are full of surprises.

“We welcome nature lovers of all levels from complete beginners to more experienced people who may like to gain skills for a career in conservation and the courses are a great way of learning more about the work of the Trust in Cheshire and can make a memorable birthday gift.”

Cheshire Wildlife Trust runs training courses throughout the year and these are held in venues all over Cheshire. The full day courses cost £30 for non-members and £20 for Trust members and £15 for concessions. To book onto one of these courses call Cheshire Wildlife Trust to check availability as course fill up fast.

Forthcoming events with spaces still available include:

28 June - Water vole survey workshop Norton Priory and Manor Park Farm with Richard Gardener, CWT’s Water Vole Officer

5 July - Wildlife gardening workshop Bickley Hall Farm with Sue Tatman, CWT’s wildlife gardening officer.

12 July - An introduction to sites of biological importance with Colin Hayes

26 July – Dragonfly & damselfly ID, Delamere Community Centre & White Gate Way with Stu Barnett

For a full list of workshops and a booking form visit call Ellie Condon on 01948 820728.
