Safe Surveying

We have compiled some information to help your visit go safely, please read it and follow the guidance.

• Inform someone of your plans and of your return at the end of the survey.

• Ideally work with another person or a group.

• It is always useful and advised to carry mobile phone with you if you own one.

• Carry maps to identify nearest access points.

• Don’t forget to carry food and water with you if you intend to stay out for a long period.

• It is always recommended to check local weather forecast prior to leaving home, so that you can take the appropriate clothing or necessities, i.e. waterproofs, wellington boots, sun screen, insect repellent.

• Wear appropriate clothing for the site you are visiting, good walking boots or similar sturdy and comfortable footwear is recommended at all times.

• Ensure permission is obtained for entry on to private land and use public footpaths whenever possible. If a permit is required the Reserve Info sheet will give details.

• If you have any queries contact CWT recording@cheshirewt.cix.co.uk

This guidance is to help you plan a safe survey session, but we recognise that the most important factor is your own common sense as an independent adult, please take all reasonable precautions for your, and other people's, safety. Please report anything you feel might be hazardous and if anything concerns you then postpone or cancel your activity, your safety is of paramount importance to us.
