Dutton Park Farm

Wet meadowland with a series of ponds, alongside the River Weaver.

Location
The reserve is north west of Northwich. It lies alongside the River Weaver (O.S. Grid Ref.: SJ583765).

Access
The reseve can be reached by walking along the public footpath adjacent to to the Weaver Navigation Canal from Actom Bridge.

Status
The 18 hectares (45 acres) reserve is leased from The Woodland Trust. It is part of a much larger site acquired by The Woodland Trust in 2006, since then they have established 50 acres of new woodland elsewhere on the site.

Habitats
The reserve is wet grassland. This has suffered from previous poor grazing management, but it is hoped sensitive grazing by our rare-breed cattle will help restore plant species diversity.

There are a number of ponds across the site. Fish have removed from these to allow the amphibian life to thrive.
