Volunteering

There are lots of different ways to get involved in volunteering with Cheshire Wildlife Trust, from one off events to regular volunteering sessions, in locations right across the Cheshire region.

Whether you're a nature novice or an ecology expert, everyone's welcome!

We really value our volunteers and the support, enthusiasm and commitment they provide. Volunteers play a vital role in helping us to deliver the four main aims of our Conservation Strategy and achieve our vision of ‘a Cheshire region richer in wildlife by 2020'.

If we are to achieve this vision we need to engage everyone in caring for and understanding our natural environment and how we might live and work in a more sustainable way. Volunteering can provide opportunities for people to be involved with and enjoy the wildlife close to home or help to improve or protect a local area.

We also need volunteers who are willing to work behind the scenes and help with education work, events or administrative work at our HQ Bickley Hall Farm. Although not directly involved in conservation work these volunteers provide invaluable support to our paid staff and help us to fill skills gaps in the organisation. Collectively the Wildlife Trusts have around 1,700 staff and over 32,000 volunteers, therefore the difference that volunteers can make is enormous..

Volunteering is also a great way to accumulate the experience needed for a career in conservation, add new transferable skills to your CV, meet new people and have lots of fun along the way!

If you would like to become a volunteer for Cheshire Wildlife Trust then please follow the simple 4 step process below:

1. Look at the current volunteer opportunities and see if we have anything that would suit you.

2. Download the volunteer registration form and complete it stating the particular opportunity you are interested in. If you would like a paper copy of this form then call 01948 820728 and we will post one out to you.

3. Return the form by email or post to Volunteer Co-ordinator, Cheshire Wildlife Trust, Bickley Hall Farm, Bickley, Malpas, SY14 8EF.

4. We will contact you to discuss the details of the opportunity that you are interested in and arrange for you to begin volunteering.

If you can't find an opportunity on our list that fits your particular skills but you would still like to volunteer, please complete a volunteer form, return it to us and we will try to find a suitable task for you.
